Once again, we will be celebrating Small Business Saturday this weekend – on Saturday 4th December. Launched to encourage shoppers to shop in their local high street, it supports local businesses – often small shopkeepers who operate from a single store. We all know retail has had a tough couple of years – with many well-known stores closing their doors for good. But for small shopkeepers, the effect of the pandemic has been catastrophic. While supermarkets are reporting bumper year, many of those in retail who are deemed non-essential have had little or no income, and have had to rely on small grants. So, we would encourage shoppers to flood their local shops this weekend as they start their Christmas shopping bargain hunts. Simply Devine is no exception. With wedding numbers limited and race meetings cancelled, we had a last-minute surge in custom as restrictions were lifted in late summer. And we don’t just sell special occasion hats! We have stocked up on small gifts as stocking fillers and Christmas presents. So if you’re looking for small gifts such as earrings, bracelets, necklaces, scarves, gloves and winter bobble hats, then we will be open on Saturday morning for you to browse and buy for your loved ones. We would love to welcome you into Simply Devine!
