The good news for weddings is that things will soon be back to normal (hopefully!) We are delighted that customers are returning to the shop with their wedding outfits – most of which they have had in their wardrobes for the past year – to find the perfect co-ordinating hat or fascinator. For the moment, only 15 people are allowed at a wedding and any reception has to be held outside in a public COVID-secure venue, with a sit-down meal only. From the 17th May, this is due to rise to 30 guests, which can be indoors or in a private garden. The best news of all is that all restrictions are due to be lifted by 21st June – depending on government guidelines, of course. For the latest information, though, check the government website here. Lavinia and Jack who featured in our blog from late last year, have changed their wedding day three times, but are hopeful it will actually take place later this year. So what are our customers looking for? Well, most mothers of the bride/groom bought their dresses last year and were caught up in the heartbreak of having to postpone their special day. With many clothing manufacturers shutting down during the past year, customers are finding it harder to match their outfits with accessories. Simply Devine has an extensive collection of hats, hatinators and fascinators in just about every colour under the sun. We have the ever-popular pale pinks and blues, creams, silvers and golds, but this season, we have added striking additions in juniper green and cornflower blue. Dusky pink wedding hatinator Last year’s vibrant cobalt blue or emerald green are still popular, with a choice of pinks from rose to fuchsia to lipstick shades. But if you’re buying a new outfit this year, the shops are full of print dresses, which means you have a choice of colour with which to match to. Added to which, if you’re quick, you might still grab a bargain from high street stores which are closing their doors for good.Perfect for a day at the races or an uber stylish mother of the bride or groom Whatever your choice, we’re sure we will have something to help you look truly amazing. And on a personal basis, we’re so happy to be open for business again, and look forward to seeing you at our destination shop in Tadcaster.A statement hatinator in Jeans (blue) trimmed with ivory crin and feathers. I set up the Simply Devine Hat Shop in 2004 and have been running the bricks and mortar high street shop in Tadcaster and our online hat shop since the early days. We were 17 years old last week!. That's a hat long time for a hat shop. We are nestled in the brewery town of Tadcaster where beer is brewed, ie Samuel Smiths, John Smiths.
