As the nights draw in, the weather is gradually getting colder as we prepare for winter.

And what a miserable winter it’s going to be! With all the doom and gloom about energy price increases, many of us will be turning down the heating and putting on an extra sweater to keep warm.

At Simply Devine we have been bringing out our lovely winter stock to help you stay warm inside and outside.  We have an extensive collection of scarves, from Luxurious velvets to faux fur collars and knitted scarves, which won’t look out of place indoors. Our summer pashminas can also double up as a winter scarf.

And for those who prefer to stay indoors, we still have a couple of pairs of lovely woollen slippers – both size 7/8 in either pale grey or deep red, which are perfect to keep those feet toasty warm.

But if you’re venturing outside, we have a collection of bobble hats in lovely bright or muted colours, some with matching snoods – including a small number of children’s googly eyed beanie hats.

For a touch of elegance, we have some beautiful faux fur hats and huffs (the bands which go around the head but which don’t have a crown).  These come in beautiful creams, pinks, truffles or navy blues, or we have some stunning animal prints which are uber sophisticated.

For a touch of the “ooh lala”, we have berets in leopard print, or versatile camel, baker boy style hats as well as felt fedoras and trilbies.

Finally, we also have some pretty trimmed faux suede gloves in black, navy, taupe or grey to keep your hands nice and warm – and these also make lovely Christmas presents or stocking fillers.

I set up the Simply Devine Hat Shop in 2004 and have been running the bricks and mortar high street shop in Tadcaster and our online hat shop since the early days. We were 17 years old last week!. That's a hat long time for a hat shop. We are nestled in the brewery town of Tadcaster where beer is brewed, ie Samuel Smiths, John Smiths.

It's been a very very busy hat year, and to celebrate we have once again been shortlisted for The Nation's Wedding Awards (to be held in Birmingham in November). We have been selected as a Finalist too for The English Wedding Awards in 2025!!! How hat exciting is that! We will be celebrating our 21st birthday in 2025, so hopefully we will have lots to celebrate! A great big thank you to all our hat customers all over the world, including all our local customers who obviously know where the Simply Devine Hat Shop is in Tadcaster. We have been very hat blessed for nearly 21 years!!!
